The grandfather of Nick Demos (our presenter) opened the very first wine shop in Asheville just after prohibition. In July 2016, Mr Demos passed the ever challenging Advanced Sommelier exam through the Court of Master Sommeliers. Nick has also earned the designation of Certified Wine Educator. This is the highest honor awarded by the Society of Wine Educators.

Wine #1 – 2023 Threadcount Sauvignon Blanc.

Winemaker Notes – “Medium yellow straw hue in the glass. Asian pear, honeysuckle, passionfruit, green melon and a citrus bouquet greet the nose. The palate present refreshing stone fruit, grapefruit, and tropical flower. This wine has a well-balanced mouthfeel with bright and lively acidity.”

Wine #2 – 2023 Belle Glos Balade Chardonnay.

Winemaker Notes – “Belle Glos Chardonnay Glasir Holt is a rich and full-bodied white wine from California. It offers flavors of ripe apple, pear, and tropical fruit, with a touch of vanilla and butter. This Chardonnay’s balanced acidity and creamy texture make it an excellent choice for pairing with roasted poultry, seafood, and creamy pasta dishes. Serve slightly chilled to enjoy its luxurious and complex character.”

Wine #3 –  2023 Boen Tri County Pinot Noir.

Winemaker Notes – “The first sip of the California Böen Pinot Noir envelops the mouth with a velvety richness. Flavors of bright cherry, dried herbs and hints of vanilla, is supple and sumptuous, to the finish.”

Professional Ratings – 93 (Wine Enthusiast) – “This wine is concentrated, with aromas of boysenberry, lingonberry, clove, black tea, and notes of toasted oak on the nose. The flavors on the palate are huckleberry, Olallieberry, blood orange zest, star anise, dried bay leaf, and a long supple finish. Pair with Grilled Filet.”

Wine #4 –  2023 Thread Count Red Blend.

Winemaker Notes – “Dark cherry red with scarlet red highlights. Complex aromas of black raspberry, milk chocolate, and soft hints of sweet cedar. Bold flavors of boysenberry pie, sugar cookie, and toffee lead to subtle notes of strawberry jam and baking spice. The balanced and complex tannin structure creates a long-lasting enjoyable finish. Pair with tri-tip crostini, pork ribs with mashed potatoes or pasta with a Bolognese sauce.”

Wine #5 – 2023 Belle Los Clark and Telephone Pinot Noir. 

Winemaker Notes – “Deep ruby red in color with lush aromas of ripe cherry, nutmeg, dark chocolate and holiday baking spices. Bold and complex flavors of black plum, crushed raspberry and blueberry pie linger on the palate. The texture is rich and lively, and leads into a warm and structured finish.”

Professional Ratings – 90 (Wine Enthusiast) – “The dense nose on this wine offers ripe aromas of boysenberry, elderberry, root beer and cola. The palate is quite thick and extremely bold, pairing baked blackberry with coffee cake and cinnamon cookie flavors.”

Wine #6 – 2022 Quilt Napa Cabernet Sauvignon.

Winemaker Notes – “Dark ruby red in the glass, with rich notes of chocolate, black currant, ripe blackberry, and marionberry with hints of toasted oak and dark cherry on the nose. The palate is rich and complex with flavors of ripe dark fruits, chocolate cherry, plum, toffee, and blackberry pie. This wine has a lingering fruit-forward finish with firm acidity and smooth velvety tannins. A classic yet complex Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon.”
