Holiday Harmony Party Pack
A curated selection of fine wines that produce a journey through wine regions of the world and are designed to be served in sequence at a dinner party.
1. As your guests arrive, their eyes light up as you hand them a glass of chilled Spanish sparkling wine (Anna de Codorniu Brut Reserva Cava).
"...pale straw yellow color in the glass, clean and brilliant. Fine bubbles with continuous beads and a persistent mousse. On the nose, it displays delicate aromas of tropical fruit such as pineapple as well as citrus, grapefruit and lime. On the palate it is soft with elegant citrus notes. Well balanced and refreshing. Its freshness and delicacy makes it ideal as an apéritif." Winemaker
2. Next, your guest enjoy one (or both) fine white whites with appetizers or the salad course. (You are also ready if someone wants white with their entree). The wines are from Italy (Kriya Percorino) and from France (Perraud White Burgundy, Saint Veran)
Pecorino - "straw-yellow colour with green reflections. On the nose the wine reflects aromas of nectarine, ripe pear and lightly citrus scents in combination with mineral notes of peat and flint, refined nuances of aromatic herbs."
White Burgundy - "heady notes of white peach, apricot, white flowers, lemongrass, and rocky mineral, this is refreshing, vivacious, and invigorating on the palate. As the wine comes up in temperature and gets more air, it just gets better, as the mineral expression really comes through."
3. Now, your guest sit down to eat, some stay with the wines above but some will want these two red wines from France and California so we have selected two reds that pair well with a wide variety of entrees.
France - Angelliaume Chinon (Cabernet Franc) - "Cigar-box aromas and a perfumed, fruity character give this wine a typical Cabernet Franc character. It is structured, with some firm tannins at the core, surrounded by ripe red fruits and fresh acidity. The wine is ready to drink"
California - Taken (Cabernet Sauvignon) - "...multi-layered and vibrant. This wine has aromas of tobacco, baking spice, and cassis. On the palate are flavors of blackberry, dark cherry, ripe plum, and pomegranate....a full structure with plush tannins and a lengthy finish. Color is a deep garnet. Enjoy with a Ribeye steak or smoked pork shoulder."
4. Finally, the meal is done but your loved ones linger at the table. You serve a tawny port from Portugal that they sip alone or with that dessert you worked on.
Kopke Fine Tawny Port - "Good tawny style on the nose, though, fresh cracked walnuts and a hint of brown sugar. More fruit on the palate, dark plums, brown sugar and a fresh, zippy lemon-squirt of acidity that keeps its sweetness in balance"
