SUMMARY:VIP - Oregon versus California - Argyle\, Textbook\, Macrostie\, and Markham
DESCRIPTION:Come enjoy wines from Argyle\, Textbook\, Macrostie and Markham vineyards. \nWine scheduled to appear: \nOregon – 2022 Argyle Vintage Brut (Willamette Valley) \n“A pale copper-gold in the glass\, aromas of shortbread and sweet apple\, and strawberry rhubarb pie\, supported by baking spices. The palate is vibrant and balanced\, and finishes with citrus zest\, and subtle saltiness. This dazzling wine combines soft richness with a bright\, refreshing structure.” Rated 90 by Wine Enthusiast and 92 by Wine Spectator \nOregon – 2019 Argyle Chardonnay Reserve (Willamette Valley) \n\n“Blended between our three vineyards\, Argyle Chardonnay displays the concentration and tension of the Eola-Amity Hills\, with the graceful delicacy of the Dundee Hills. Fermented and aged on the lees in mostly neutral French oak barrels\, sleek flint and crunchy citrus\, balanced with an underlying creaminess. The natural acidity is lively and fresh\, finishing long\, clean\, and pure.” Rated 92 by Robert Parker \nOregon – 2023 Argyle Pinot Noir (Willamette Valley) \n“Argyle Pinot Noir showcases the Willamette Valley’s elegance\, purity of fruit\, and nimble texture. The 2023 vintage leans dark cherry\, pomegranate\, and spiced tea. Fresh\, vibrant acidity is framed with polished tannin along with classic Argyle silky texture and persistent length.” \nCalifornia – 2023 Macrostie Pinot Noir (Sonoma Coast) \n“The grapes for this acclaimed Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir came from a who’s who of iconic cool-climate Pinot Noir vineyards in this famed wine region. On the palate\, it is impeccably balanced\, with generous fruit flavors of plum and ripe red berries\, as well as hints of baking spice.” \nCalifornia – 2023 Markham Altruist Red Blend (Napa Valley) \n“Crafted from the finest sites in Napa Valley\, Merlot provides the juicy\, velvety core to this Bordeaux-style blend\, framed by Cabernet Sauvignon’s weight and power. A dash of Cabernet Franc adds floral aromatics\, while Malbec and Petit Verdot round out the palate with juicy boysenberry and radiant color. Delicious and opulent\, this wine is redolent of briary strawberry jam\, blackberries\, sugar plums\, milk chocolate and vanilla\, all wrapped in a creamy smooth texture.” Unrated but previous vintages scored 93.  \nCalifornia – 2019 Textbook Cabernet Sauvignon (Napa Valley) \n“From lauded winemaker Jonathan Pey and winemaker Abigail Estrada\, this is a most approachable\, stylized Cab from Napa Valley. Blended with the four other Bordeaux varieties and aged for 16 months in 35% new French oak\, the wine\, at 14.1% abv is ripe and ready. Dark plum and mocha are elegantly framed within pleasingly playful tannins. The mouthfeel is round and sumptuous\, and its overall balance is notable.” Rated 94 by The Tasting Panel (publication).

SUMMARY:Super Premium Tasting - Silver Oak Vineyards
DESCRIPTION:You spoke and we listened. The responses from our recent survey showed folks wanted a super premium wine tasting and here it is. \nWe have a world class wine tasting where you will taste wines from Silver Oak and Twomey (owned by Silver Oak). The ratings of these wines range from 92 to 96. You will also be able to taste wines made from the same types of grape but from different vineyards. \nWe all will enjoy this one. \nWine scheduled to appear: \n2024 Twomey Sauvignon Blanc \n“The 2024 Sauvignon Blanc combines the concentrated depth of a warm vintage with the freshness that only an early harvest can preserve. On the nose\, it opens with inviting aromas of white peach\, Gravenstein apple and chamomile. The palate is rich yet delicate\, offering a beautifully textured mouthfeel that’s lifted by vibrant acidity. A throughline of fresh minerality adds elegance\, while the finish is fresh and persistent\, making it both lively and refined. Perfect for immediate enjoyment\, this wine captures the essence of California in a vintage defined by balance and complexity.” Rated 93 James Suckling \n2023 Twomey Pinot Noir – Anderson Valley \n“Lovely\, bright\, crunchy red fruit\, rich cedar spices\, dried floral notes\, and dusty minerals. Satiny fruit races across the palate\, along with plump tannins\, electrified by terrific acidity. The fruit concentration is penetrating but never overpowering and is framed by a clove powder and cedarwood dusting on the long finish.” Rated 92 James Suckling \n2023 Twomey Pinot Noir – Russian River Valley \n“This Russian River Valley wine has beautiful\, floral and cassis-like aromas\, followed by a generous palate of black plums\, black cherries and subtle pine and woodsy accents. Moderate tannins and a full body make for a mouth-filling and well-balanced expression. Elegant red berry fruit is laced with vanilla and cedarwood. Emerging brown spices layer in nuance on this medium-bodied Pinot Noir\, which boasts plenty of dark fruit concentration with plush textures and ripe tannins. There’s a lovely floral lift on the finish.” Rated 93 James Suckling; 92 Decanter \n2021 Silver Oak Cabernet Sauvignon – Alexander Valley \n“So full-bodied\, ripe and robust\, offering spicy\, iron-like\, black fruit aromas\, with generous dark cherries on a firmly tannic palate. Concentrated black plum\, graphite\, black pepper\, coffee bean\, pine resin and oak toast flavors on a full body. The tannins are powerful and fine-grained\, shaping the texture significantly at this stage. Drinkable now\, but best from 2030.” Rated 96 Decanter; 93 James Suckling \n2020 Silver Cabernet Sauvignon – Napa Valley \n“A super creamy\, delicious and detailed red with oodles of red fruit\, silky tannins and a full body. It tastes pure\, fresh\, almost delicate\, offering raspberries\, cherry cream\, blueberries\, cafe au lait and subtle oak toast on the palate. A gentle\, layered\, pretty wine that seems not at all affected by the wildfire smoke that year.” Rated 95 James Suckling \n2021 Silver Oak – Timeless – Napa Valley \n“A marriage of fruit from our brightest blocks\, this wine has flavors of red raspberry\, licorice and notes of fresh flowers kissed by a warm summer sun. There is a silky texture on the palate that unfolds with plushness and balanced weight\, and the lingering finish is accentuated with a vibrant blackberry return. Well-integrated and nuanced\, this wine is the personification of determination and beauty. The 2021 Timeless Napa Valley stands as a testament to deliberate stewardship of the land. Its essence\, distilled from smaller berries\, exudes a tapestry of concentration and opulence. With a velvety texture that caresses the palate\, it epitomizes the grace inherent in the vines of our cherished estate.” Rated 96 Wine Country Connection
